Primary description: Multi-ethnic atherosclerosis study

The Multi‐Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) is a longitudinal study of subclinical cardiovascular disease that began in the year 2000. This population has diverse racial and ethnic characteristics, including 25% Black, 15% Chinese American, 19% Hispanic, and 41% White participants. The MESA cohort was sub-sampled to collect brain MR imaging at six sites at the time of the sixth exam, between the years 2018-2019.
